Some pieces of information we find helpful are:
- The date, time and location of both the ceremony and the reception
- Who’s hosting the wedding (a.k.a. whose names need to be on the invite in addition to the couple)
- The address where RSVPs should be sent
- The wedding theme and/or colors
- Your budget range
- The quantity needed
We realize that all sorts of things can change at the last minute, so keep us up to date with how your planning is going. We’ll work with you to establish a timeline so you’ll know exactly when information needs to be to us.
It’s customary to order invitations four to six months prior to your wedding date. This gives us time to get everything sorted out, designed, printed and to you in plenty of time. (If you’re running on a tight schedule, contact us and we’ll see what we can do to fit your timeline.)
Invitations should be sent out about eight weeks prior to the wedding in order to ensure that guests can get the date set and RSVP in plenty of time. If you have a destination wedding, allow a bit more time so that your guests can sufficiently plan ahead.
Tally up your guest list and count on one invitation per household. Some couples choose to send additional invitations to those over 18 years of age still living at home. Once you have your final count, add between 10 and 25 extra invites – you’ll want to keep a few for yourselves! These extra invites can also be great resources to take with you as you choose a photographer, cake or florist.
