Paper & printing
Full-color digital printing
The majority of our invitations and other event materials utilize full color digital printing. This means that the paper is run through a digital press, creating rich vibrant colors edge to edge. Crisp and clean, digital printing does not indent the paper or leave raised areas where the ink coats the stock.
Papers
Our standard paper is a smooth matte cardstock available in white or ivory. Specialty papers available for a small additional charge are linen texture, ridged texture, or glossy coated stocks.
Specialty printing processes
High-end custom projects may call for other printing processes. Each job is different, so be sure to contact us if you are interested in using specialty printing. Some of the available processes are:
Letterpress
In the letterpress process, the text and designs are imprinted into the paper using a special press. Thick felt-like paper is usually used, and the lettering and design create textural indented areas. Because each color requires a separate pass through the press, letterpress projects generally don't use more than two colors.
Thermography
In the thermography process, text and images are applied to the paper using a heat-fusing technique. The colored areas are therefore raised and can be felt when one runs fingers across the page.
Foil-stamping
Foil-stamping begins with a sheet of foil. It's often a metallic or holographic sheet, but this foil could also be a solid color. The foil is then applied in the designated areas, which could be text or design elements. This allows the printed piece to include metallic, pearlescent or super-glossy areas.
