What Flat & Fabulous needed
Sara, one of the founders of Flat and Fabulous, saw a need for a professional logo as her group began to take off. In her words:
“Right now, we have been an online support group for women who choose not to have reconstruction after mastectomy or who are having their reconstruction extracted. We also open up for those who are facing mastectomy but are unsure of what path they will be going down. Ironically, after forming a group that I thought would have a handful, my partner and I discovered the MAJORITY of women who have mastectomies do not have reconstruction….We want to empower people to embrace their reality, gaining the confidence to step outside what society tells us the “norms” are.”
To further Sara’s goal of a safe place for folks to gather and support each other, she needed a well-designed, “real” logo. Having this lets people know the group is legit and professional, and can carry a consistent identity through their other social pages and needed materials.
Design-wise, the request was a simple text treatment of their group name, that was eye-catching, purple, and maybe even a little sparkly.
Our solution
After a few collaborative rounds of idea-exploring, we landed on the perfect logo for Flat and Fabulous to showcase their huge heart and all-embracing message. Sparkly, professional, purple… the final logo has it all! We also provided Sara with colors and font suggestions to use in all her social media avenues, to keep the organization’s look and branding consistent with their new logo.
What Sara had to say
“Thank you, Blustery Day Design! I am in LOVE with our Flat & Fabulous logo! I am so appreciative of the consulting and brainstorming process you walked me through. I had a vague idea and you took the smallest of thoughts and developed it to make it into something beautiful!
“We have been using our logo everywhere and it is truly FABULOUS! We use it on our website (flatandfabulous.org) to maintain a consistent look throughout our social media accounts, and our members are constantly asking for me to design new merchandise with the logo. The logo helps make them feel connected to each other (and it is a great tool to get the word out about our organization!).
“Considering how hands on and willing to learn I am with the business side, investing in a logo felt like a gamble for me. I tried to do it myself before approaching you and only made myself question the need for a logo even more. Your abilities and creativity are priceless!”
“Truly, I think our logo has helped make our organization stronger and has united our group – we have a banner to wave and call our own and it is something we love and want to display any way we can.”
