WordCamp Nashville recap
Community involvement for the win
Written on October 1, 2016 by Christina Blust
I helped plan WordCamp Nashville 2016. I’d attended WordCamps in the past, but this was the first one I was involved with beforehand. (WordCamps are volunteer-run, community-focused events for WordPress users and professionals.) I’m so grateful I got to be part of this one. I was on the planning team as design lead, and both Jessica and I attended the two-day event. In addition to volunteering, the two of us also attended sessions and talked to dozens of super-cool people. Sharing tips and stories is one of the best parts of WordCamps.
Getting to see the design work we’d done for the conference in person was especially gratifying — often we design signage and event materials but don’t get to see them “in the wild.” So this was a treat! Attendees seemed to enjoy our work, too.
I drew this little guy for @WordCampNash, coming up this weekend Sept 17-18. Can't wait! 🙂 #wp_wapuu #wcnash pic.twitter.com/GJMuaKlKga
